The fitness industry is constantly evolving alongside shifts in client demands, and improvements in fitness technology. As professional personal trainers, it is important that we stay close with these fitness trends in order to provide the best for our clients.
By listening and adapting to the demands of our clients, and paying attention to changes in the fitness industry, we are constantly evolving our approach to fitness training.
Throughout the last few years with the pandemic, we had to adapt our approach to personal training to do our part to keep our clients safe and stop the spread of COVID-19. As part of the pandemic shift, we needed to find new and creative ways to help our clients achieve their fitness goals within the comfort of their own home, or in open outdoor spaces like local parks.
In 2023, we anticipate that client expectations will become more and more diverse, especially when it comes to their comfort levels and fitness goals.
Here’s How We’re Keeping Up With Fitness Trends In 2023
Work Out At Home With In-Home Personal Training
In-Home Personal Training is becoming more and more popular every year, especially as many people are deciding to ditch the gym. In a survey conducted by Ipsos, roughly 70% of Canadians would rather work out in the comfort of their own home, rather than joining a gym. This shift towards working out at home is likely driven by the convenience that working from home offered to some workers, as well as a reluctance to travel or commute to the gym to reduce the risk of getting sick.
Thankfully, we are experts in providing In-Home Personal Training services, and have been doing so well-before the pandemic hit. No matter where you are in the Greater Toronto Area, we are happy to help you avoid the commute to the gym.
Virtual & Online Fitness Training
While many people feel comfortable enough to venture back out into public spaces and not wear masks, others choose to remain vigilant. During the pandemic, we saw an increase in clients opting for virtual personal training rather than in-person sessions.
Virtual training can be beneficial if you work a tight schedule, or are part of (or close to) a vulnerable population that cannot run the risk of catching illnesses Virtual training works essentially the same as in-person training, but sessions are held over the internet using video calling software like Zoom or Skype. Our personal trainers can see you perform each exercise through your webcam during a session, and correct and guide you similar to how they would in an in-person session..
While we strongly encourage training sessions to be in-person where possible, we understand that every clients’ circumstances are different and are happy to accommodate your needs.
Flexible Session Scheduling
Some people prefer to work out bright and early at 6AM, but others prefer to sweat it out at night. At First Class Personal Training, we understand the importance of open and flexible scheduling to meet your needs.
We make it our mission to work around your schedule and ensure that our sessions together are productive and consistent. If you ever need to reschedule a session, or want to change the time you regularly work with us, just give us a call and we will find a time that works best for you so you don’t miss a session.
New and Viral Nutrition & Diet Trends
In recent years, veganism and vegetarianism have seen a rise in popularity perpetuated by social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. In the past, many people only followed a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle for spiritual or religious reasons, whereas now many people are opting for plant-based alternatives for environmental and moral reasons.
Part of the role of a personal trainer is to provide guidance and recommendations to clients on healthy meal and snack ideas. First Class Personal Training is happy to provide nutritional guidance to our clients while considering clients’ dietary needs and preferences, ensuring that our recommendations are nutritious, and align with your desired fitness outcomes.
High-Tech Home Gym Equipment & Wearables
The fitness industry and technology go together hand-in-hand. Every year there are new and innovative devices and equipment unveiled that make it easier and more enjoyable to track your fitness and exercise in your own home.
Our responsibility as fitness instructors is to ensure that our clients are getting the best, and advise on how to integrate these new wearables and equipment into your fitness routine to help you reach your fitness goals quickly. Additionally, we make sure to provide only the best equipment to our clients for each of their sessions.
By learning your fitness goals, we can work with you to track and achieve them while making the most of your favourite fitness gadgets and devices.
